Afghan Kush is an Indica strain originating from the "Hindu Kush" area — mountain ranges near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. It is a classic strain known since way before the strain studies has become a thing. It is easy to grow and has high yields which makes it a popular source for various types of hashish produces in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India region. It was introduced into Europe by White Label Seed Company, a Sensi Seeds partner from the Netherlands, and quickly became popular there.

Afghan Kush is known for its large buds having a lot of resin. It has a characteristic smell that is variously described as "woody", "earthy" and "spicy" and produces stereotypical Sativa high — calm and relaxed to the point of sleepy. As such, it is an excellent choice for people battling insomnia or severe stress. Users also report increased sense of thirst ("dry mouth") and hunger ("the munchies") after using this strain.
